FEATURED STORIES
TPUK began its life as a much smaller community arts project called Bristol Trans Portraits. Between 2020-2022, our founder and photographer offered free photoshoots to local trans and non-binary people in Bristol.
See their stories and photos, and if you want more from the early days of the project, get yourself a copy of our magazine!
OUR MAGAZINE
The first issue of the Trans Portraits UK magazine was released in November 2022. It features stories and photographs from the first iteration of the project - Bristol Trans Portraits - along with two exclusive articles.
Issue 2 is set to release in November 2025. The theme for this next issue is Trans Joy!

SUPPORT OUR WORK
TPUK currently operates on a voluntary basis. We have a small group of backers on Patreon, which allows us to pay web-hosting costs, and keep our photoshoots free for participants.
We'd love to offer more though! We're keen to create more opportunities for trans photographers and writers, and to ensure the project can keep on growing. To do this, we need your support!
Become a member for as little as £1 per month to help the project thrive!
NEED A PHOTOGRAPHER?
In 2025 we're expanding the scope of the project, and building a network of trans photographers throughout the UK is one of our first aims. To this end we've compiled our new transgender photographers directory.
The directory is intended as a resource for connecting clients, organisers and community groups with photographers - which we believe is particularly needed in the wake of April's Supreme Court ruling and everything that has happened since.
Click below to see the directory and find trans/non-binary photographers near you!
